The Lakshmi Guttapusalu Haram is a traditional South Indian necklace that combines two iconic elements — the goddess Lakshmi motif and the guttapusalu design. Lakshmi, the symbol of wealth and grace, is placed at the center and sometimes repeated along the chain.
The edges of the haram are decorated with clusters of small pearls, known as guttapusalu (meaning “cluster of beads” in Telugu). This design comes from the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and has been worn by women for generations during weddings and festivals. It is usually paired with heavy silk sarees and antique accessories.
